The beauty of nature . . . the miracle of life
I was wondering whether this qualifies as a blog, so I went to http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/blog and found this definition: "Contemporary definitions for blog. Expand. noun. an online diary; a personal chronological log of thoughts published on a Web page; also called Weblog, Web log. Examples. Typically updated daily, blogs often reflect the personality of the author."
From that definition I guess this picture qualifies as a blog. It is published on a web page and it does reflect my personality. What is the old adage "a picture is worth a thousand words." You know me. I had to check out my sources. From a brief Google it seems that most sources agree to credit an American advertiser, Frederick Barnard, in the early 20th century, who was promoting picture advertising in trolley cars. Some how that mental image just doesn't do the saying any justice. But that doesn't make it any less true. I could go on for thousands and thousands of words trying to describe this scene without being able to truly convey the magnitude of its beauty. The only thing better would be to be there and see for yourself.
As you admire this magnificent vista, and hopefully think about visiting us at Glacier National Park to enjoy it first hand, I would like to suggest that you consider this - - - scientists confound our brains with all of the fine detail that goes into the existence of a habitable planet. While it seems so massive and strong, it is, by comparison to much in the universe, quite fragile. Should we not do whatever we can to preserve it?
